DIRECTION

 THE ORIGINS OF DIRECTION

According to the Gregorian Universal System and Units of Measurement System (GUSUMS) the concept of direction also originated from the circle. GUSUMS states that direction came about by pointing out the location of points at which two or more circles intersected.

The Origins of the Axis

It is from this practice that concepts of the axis came from. Using the seed of life, GUSUMS illustrates this by showing the X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis in the image below.

The Origins of the Four Cardinal Points of a Compass

Using the same seed of life, GUSUMS also shows how the 4 cardinal points of the compass originated from the circle.

From the above, other more complex directions and concepts of direction can be created with further divisions of the circle.
